National Pesticide Impact Assessment Program

MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of National Agricultural Pesticide Impact Assessment Program (NAPIAP) is to promote informed regulatory decisions on registered pesticides. NAPIAP accomplishes this mission through management and coordination of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and State activities to develop and analyze information on pesticide use and pest management practices; to determine impacts of pesticide regulations on agricultural productivity, the supply of agricultural products, and product price; and to address pest control issues related to health and the environment. To facilitate the accomplishment of this mission statement, Cooperative State Research, Extension, and Education Service (CSREES)/NAPIAP's specific mission is focused to:

• To provide resources to network the USDA with State Land Grant University scientists in the development of science-based data necessary to identify and define benefits of agricultural pest management activities and relate this information to members of the agricultural community, regulatory agencies and the general public.

• To coordinate with other agencies in order to accomplish the mission of NAPIAP.
